KRA Tax Returns Filing Assistance

Annual returns are due by 30 June every year. We help you file correctly using your P9 or the right return type — and avoid unnecessary penalties.

Who this service is for

Employees with a P9 form, people with no income who need to file a nil return, students and job seekers with a PIN, and anyone who has missed returns in previous years.

How Hirram Services helps

  • Choosing the correct return type
  • Filing employment income returns using your P9
  • Filing nil returns where appropriate
  • Explaining reliefs and figures on your return
  • Downloading acknowledgement receipts
  • Explaining late filing penalties and next steps

What to prepare before you contact us

Having these ready makes the process faster. Requirements are set by the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) and can change, so we always confirm the current list with you before starting.

  • Your KRA PIN and iTax password
  • P9 form(s) from your employer(s), if employed
  • Details of any other income
  • Insurance or other relief documents, if applicable

Key deadline

For individuals, annual income tax returns for the previous year are due by 30 June. Filing early gives time to fix any issues with your P9 or iTax account.

Frequently asked questions

What happens if I don’t file my KRA returns?
KRA charges penalties for late filing, even for some nil returns. Filing on time protects you and keeps you eligible for a tax compliance certificate.
I have more than one employer. Can you help?
Yes. We combine your P9 forms and file one correct return.
Can I file a nil return if I was employed?
No. If you earned employment income during the year, you should file an employment income return, not a nil return.
